Bomb Shells Found in Madhya Pradesh Scrap Shop Deemed Defused

A dramatic discovery unfolded in Betul, Madhya Pradesh, as defused bomb shells were unearthed in a scrap dealer's shop. The bomb disposal squad confirmed the deactivation after conducting thorough examinations.

The shells, resembling miniature rockets and marked with 'practice', were found amidst routine police searches ahead of Independence Day. Concern grew when some shells were initially suspected to be live, prompting the involvement of a bomb disposal squad from Narmadapuram and an Indian Air Force team.

Precautionary measures led to the evacuation of nearby shops and residences. Superintendent of Police Nischal Jharia confirmed the defused status of the 21 bomb shells. Scrap dealer Naeem Qureshi stated the shells came from two individuals who misrepresented them as containing iron pieces. Investigations continue, including questioning Qureshi's son, who is in custody.
