External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday engaged in a comprehensive meeting with Maldivian Defence Minister Ghassan Maumoon, focusing on bolstering bilateral security cooperation and mutual interests in regional peace and stability.
Jaishankar's three-day official visit to Maldives marks the first high-level interaction from India since Mohamed Muizzu, a pro-China president, took office. On the second day, Jaishankar emphasized defense and security collaborations. Both nations are keen on joint maritime security initiatives.
