SEBI Chair and Husband Refute Hindenburg Allegations

SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch and her husband have vehemently denied accusations made by short-seller Hindenburg Research, describing them as baseless and unfounded. They affirmed that their financial dealings are completely transparent and open for examination.

In a joint statement, the Buchs condemned Hindenburg Research, which faces enforcement action and a show cause notice from SEBI, for attempting to tarnish their reputation. Hindenburg Research had alleged that the Buchs were involved in offshore funds linked to the Adani money siphoning scandal.

The Buchs announced their intention to release a detailed statement to further affirm their innocence and expressed their readiness to disclose all financial documents, even those from their time as private citizens, to any investigating authority.
