Tragic Electrocution: Boy's Death Spurs Outrage

A 13-year-old boy in Delhi died from electrocution while playing cricket. An iron pole carrying electricity to a gaushala caused his death. The incident has sparked calls for strict action against the gaushala and the Power Department amid broader concerns over power discoms' negligence.

A 13-year-old boy died from electrocution while playing cricket in Delhi's Ranhola area, police confirmed on Sunday. The incident occurred when the boy, a student at a local government school, touched an iron pole carrying electricity to a nearby gaushala.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Jimmy Chiram stated that the victim was immediately rushed to DDU Hospital by a PCR van, where he was declared dead. In response to the tragic incident, an FIR under Section 106(1) of the BNS has been filed, and investigations are underway.

The boy's mother, Anita Devi, has called for strict action against the gaushala and the Power Department. Meanwhile, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva expressed grief and demanded an investigation, citing multiple deaths this year due to alleged criminal negligence by power companies.
