A married woman was allegedly gang-raped by a man and three of his family members in a revenge attack in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, police reported on Sunday.

The incident, which took place on May 1, was reportedly filmed by the assailants who threatened to release the footage if the victim filed a complaint.

Overcoming immense trauma, the woman later approached the police, leading to a formal case against the accused. The attack was said to be retribution for the victim's brother eloping with the daughter of one of the accused.
