Authorities in Ahmedabad have successfully intercepted hybrid marijuana worth Rs. 1.70 crore concealed within children's toys and ladies' footwear at the foreign post office. Sources indicate that the dark web might have been the procurement channel, suggesting possible foreign involvement.

The cyber crime branch and the Customs Department undertook the operation, seizing 37 packets containing 5.670 grams of high-quality hybrid ganja on Saturday night. The discovery was made following a tip-off about drug peddlers utilizing dark web and social media platforms for international contraband procurement.

Hidden in items like kids' travel airbeds, air purifiers, soft toys, dresses, Bluetooth speakers, and footwear, the contraband's estimated international market value stands at Rs. 1,70,10,510. Legal actions have commenced under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and the Information Technology Act, with efforts ongoing to arrest the culprits.
