Authorities in Ahmedabad seized 5.67 kg of high-quality hybrid marijuana, worth Rs 1.70 crore, hidden inside children's toys and ladies' footwear at the foreign post office. Preliminary investigations cite the dark web as the procurement source, indicating potential foreign involvement.

The seizure, conducted by the cyber crime branch and the Customs Department, intercepted 37 parcels containing the contraband before they could be dispatched. The high-value bust took place on Saturday night following a meticulous surveillance operation.

A joint team from the cyber crime and Customs departments initiated the operation based on intelligence reports about drug peddlers using the dark web and social media to obtain contraband globally. An FIR has been filed under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and the Information Technology Act, with efforts ongoing to arrest those involved.
