Hindu Right-Wing Member Arrested for Inflammatory Video

A member of the Hindu right-wing outfit, Satyam Pandit, was arrested for circulating an inflammatory video calling for the expulsion of Rohingya Muslims and Bangladeshis from India. Police actions have resulted in further arrests and judicial custody for associated violent incidents near a railway station in the city.

Satyam Pandit, a member of the Hindu right-wing group Hindu Veer Sena, was arrested on Sunday for circulating an inflammatory video. The footage called for the expulsion of Rohingya Muslims and Bangladeshis from India within 72 hours.

According to Police Commissioner Ajay Kumar Mishra, Pandit threatened police and used abusive language in the video. He has since been detained by Nandgram police and jailed.

In another incident, Bhupendra Chowdhury alias Pinki of the Hindu Raksha Dal and supporter Badal alias Hariom were sent to judicial custody for 14 days. They were arrested for assault and property destruction near a railway station, targeting alleged Bangladeshi infiltrators. It was clarified that those attacked were not Bangladeshis, leading to an FIR against Chowdhary and 20 others.
