A special PMLA court here convicted Punjab-based drug dealer Ranjit Singh Kandola and his wife Rajwant Kaur on Tuesday on charges of money-laundering, officials revealed.

Kandola, also known as Raja Kandola, has been sentenced to nine years in prison, while Kaur was handed a three-year jail term under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The conviction follows a Punjab Police complaint from June 2012, which uncovered narcotics worth Rs 200 crore linked to a syndicate operated by Kandola. The Enforcement Directorate highlighted Kandola's role in a manufacturing racket for 'Ice' and heroin supplies from Pakistan, distributing drugs across Punjab, Delhi, and major Indian cities.
