Gurugram Police Commissioner Vikas Kumar Arora Awarded President's Police Medal For Distinguished Service

Gurugram Commissioner of Police Vikas Kumar Arora and 11 other officers from Haryana have been selected for the President's Police Medal for distinguished service. Arora, a 1998 batch IPS officer, has had a notable career, including roles in Faridabad and Rewari, and significant contributions to tackling online fraud.

Gurugram Commissioner of Police Vikas Kumar Arora has been honored with the President's Police Medal for distinguished service, as announced in an official statement on Wednesday.

Alongside Arora, 11 other police officers and personnel from Haryana have been recognized with this prestigious award, the statement added.

Arora, an IPS officer of the 1998 batch, took charge as the Gurugram police commissioner in August of the previous year. His career includes a tenure as the Faridabad police commissioner and deputy commissioner of police (east) in Gurugram from 2010 to 2011.

During his service in Faridabad, Arora played a pivotal role in combating online fraud, leading to the arrest of hundreds of perpetrators across the country between September 2021 and August last year. He also served as the inspector general of police (IGP) south range in Rewari from 2020 to 2021.

The recognition of these officers, including IPS officers Deepak Saharan, Kamal Deep Goyal, Surinder Singh Bhoria, Vijay Pratap, Deepak, DSP Sandeep Kumar, Inspector Anil Kumar, Om Prakash, Sub-inspectors Ram Niwas, Santosh, and ASI Mahender Singh, was confirmed by the Ministry of Home Affairs on the eve of Independence Day.
