Bollywood-Inspired Heist: Married Couple Arrested for Theft in North Delhi

The Delhi Police have detained a married couple accused of stealing a mobile phone from a north Delhi home, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
Gaurav and Vandana, both 30, reportedly drew inspiration from the Bollywood film 'Bunty aur Babli', engaging in various thefts, robberies, and snatchings, said Deputy Commissioner of Police Manoj Kumar Meena.
On August 12, a burglary was reported at Gali Bhauji in Bara Hindu Rao, north Delhi. Local residents apprehended the suspects who later admitted to a series of crimes inspired by 'Bunty aur Babli'. They confirmed stealing the complainant's mobile phone.
According to the police, the couple targeted houses left open during the early morning hours when residents were out for walks or temple visits. Both accused, identified as habitual offenders and history-sheeters, have been remanded to judicial custody following their court appearance.
