Massive Heroin Seizure in Assam’s Barak Valley
In two separate anti-narcotics operations in Karimganj and Cachar districts of Assam's Barak Valley, heroin valued at nearly Rs 4 crore was seized. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that three individuals have been arrested in connection with the incidents.

Assam's Barak Valley witnessed a significant anti-narcotics crackdown, with heroin worth nearly Rs 4 crore being seized, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed on Wednesday. The operations led to the arrest of three individuals.
The Assam police carried out these operations in two different locations, Karimganj and Cachar. In Karimganj, police intercepted a vehicle at Gilaiti Hills, recovering 305 grams of heroin. Two suspects were apprehended. The estimated value of the drugs was over Rs 1.90 crore.
Meanwhile, in Cachar district, police intercepted another individual at Sonai. A thorough search led to the discovery of 330.07 grams of heroin valued at Rs 2 crore from the suspect's possession. The person has been detained for further investigation.
