BSF Eastern Command's Operational Preparedness Reviewed Amid Bangladesh Unrest

Briefed on current challenges, Gandhi commended BSF personnel's efforts to prevent infiltration and crime, emphasizing the need to maintain peace and safeguard local populations.

ADG Ravi Gandhi of the BSF’s Eastern Command conducted a thorough review of operational preparedness along the Indo-Bangladesh border at the Gopalpur sector headquarters on Friday. The visit is part of a four-day inspection tour to assess the BSF Guwahati Frontier’s efforts to manage border security amid ongoing unrest in Bangladesh.

Upon arrival, Gandhi was briefed by senior officials, including Makrand Deouskar, Inspector General of the Guwahati Frontier. Discussions focused on the current security challenges and the strategic measures being taken to combat them, with an emphasis on preventing infiltration and controlling trans-border crimes to ensure regional safety.

Gandhi also toured various Border Out Posts (BOPs) under the Gopalpur sector’s jurisdiction. Interacting with field commanders, he assessed the operational readiness and border domination plans. He lauded the field personnel for their dedication and urged continued vigilance to maintain peace and secure the Indo-Bangladesh border.
