Tragedy Strikes at Aastha Kunj: Man Drowns in Park Pond

Tragedy struck at Aastha Kunj Park in southeast Delhi's Amar Colony area on Friday when the body of a young man in his early 20s was recovered from a pond, according to police.

The man had come to bathe in the pond with two companions, who attempted to rescue him by jumping into the water but failed, witnesses and police said. The two men reportedly fled the scene after their unsuccessful rescue attempts.

An eyewitness informed the police, prompting a search operation that led to a diver pulling the body from the pond. The body has been sent to the AIIMS mortuary as identification efforts are underway. The park is managed by the Delhi Development Authority.
