The Assam Police have announced a cash reward of up to Rs 5 lakh for credible information leading to the identification of individuals involved in manufacturing, transporting, and planting 'IED-like devices' around the state for the banned outfit ULFA (I).

Expressing confidence in solving the case, law enforcement officials have delegated responsibilities to different officers and wings to advance the investigation. The United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent) claimed to have planted 24 bombs, albeit only 19 locations were specified. Technical failures reportedly prevented the bombs from exploding.

Amid ongoing search operations, two 'IED-like devices' were found in Guwahati, totalling ten seized in the past 24 hours. A minor was detained for questioning, while further searches were conducted in Tinsukia and other districts. Director General of Police (DGP) G P Singh assured the public of their committed efforts to crack the case.
