A prominent mall in Navi Mumbai's Vashi area faced an evacuation Saturday following a bomb threat, which authorities later confirmed was a hoax. No suspicious objects were found during a thorough search conducted by multiple agencies, officials reported.
The InOrbit mall received an alarming email around 11:59 AM, featuring a misspelled warning about bombs planted within the building, according to a statement from a Vashi police station official. Immediate evacuation measures were undertaken.
Personnel from the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, Anti-Terrorism Squad, Fire Brigade, and police units searched the premises with the aid of a dog squad. The search concluded around 2:50 PM without finding any bomb, and the mall reopened shortly after. Authorities are currently investigating the email's origin to identify the sender.
