The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has successfully detained Dharminder Kumar, believed to be a primary supplier of illegal arms in the recent high-profile murder of Vikas Prabhakar, a VHP leader in Punjab. The arrest occurred on Sunday during a joint operation with the Delhi Police Special Cell.

Kumar, who operates under the alias Kunal and is 22 years old, was captured in Ludhiana. He faces charges under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, and the Arms Act. The NIA's investigations indicate that Kumar obtained the illegal arms from Madhya Pradesh, which were then used by ground shooters to execute the murder, allegedly under the directives of Khalistani terrorist Harwinder Kumar, known as Sonu.

The officers involved confirmed that Kumar was apprehended in Balmiki Colony, Ludhiana. The operation also involves a search for two BKI operatives with a bounty on their heads. Vikas Prabhakar, the victim, was killed in his shop, prompting the NIA to take over the investigation from local authorities.
