Fake NCC Camp Scandal Shocks Krishnagiri

An eighth-grade girl was sexually assaulted at a fake NCC camp in Krishnagiri. Eleven people, including the prime suspect, were arrested. The NCC confirmed it was not involved, and investigations are ongoing into past fake camps. The district is providing counseling to the victims and their parents.

An eighth-grade girl was sexually assaulted at a fraudulent National Cadet Corps (NCC) camp in Krishnagiri's Bargur area, resulting in the arrest of 11 individuals, including the prime suspect, announced district collector K M Sarayu on Monday.

The NCC headquarters clarified that they had not organized any such camp in the area and disassociated themselves from the incident, which involved sexual harassment of schoolgirls in attendance.

The district administration confirmed NCC's non-involvement and rapidly arrested nine people on Sunday, followed by two more on Monday, in response to the assault and subsequent abuse allegations.

District collector Sarayu informed reporters that police have taken the alleged main organizer and school authorities into custody, and that POCSO cases have been registered against them. Investigations are ongoing into similar fake camps conducted previously.

Victims and their parents are receiving counseling and psychological support from the district child protection unit.

The school education department is conducting a detailed inquiry into previous fake camps and possible administrative violations.

It was revealed that suspect Sivaraman had organized five prior camps in the district, which are now under scrutiny.

Approximately 41 students, including 17 girls, attended the recent fake camp, with the assault coming to light after one girl recounted her ordeal to her parents, who then reported it to the police.

The NCC, reiterating their non-involvement, condemned the misinformation connecting them to the incident.
