Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA) Minister Velenkosini Hlabisa is in Durban today to evaluate the progress of the eThekwini Working Group's implementation, a critical initiative designed to address key challenges in the region.
This visit comes in the wake of the establishment of the Presidential eThekwini Working Group, which is responsible for executing the eThekwini turnaround strategy. The group's mission includes coordinating efforts to position eThekwini as a leading investment and tourism hub, building on insights and outcomes from previous interventions.
The working group is also focused on monitoring progress and providing recommendations for continuous improvement. A statement released emphasized that "various working groups have been actively addressing service delivery challenges and working to restore business confidence through coordinated efforts involving all three spheres of government, civil society, and the private sector."
Minister Hlabisa is joined by KwaZulu-Natal MEC for CoGTA Thulasizwe Buthelezi and eThekwini metro Mayor Cyril Xaba during this assessment visit.
