Iran Shuts Down German-Linked Organizations Amid Financial Fraud Claims
Iran has closed two branches of German-linked organizations due to allegations of illegal activities and financial fraud. This follows Germany's ban on the Islamic Centre Hamburg (IZH) for pursuing radical Islamist goals. Investigations into other Germany-affiliated centers are ongoing.
Iran's judiciary has announced the closure of two branches of organizations linked to Germany, citing "illegal activities and financial fraud," according to the judiciary's Mizan news agency.
Security forces were seen removing the banner of the German Language Institute of Tehran, connected to the German embassy. The judiciary indicated that other Germany-affiliated centers are also under investigation for similar violations.
This move follows Germany's July ban on the Islamic Centre Hamburg (IZH) for "pursuing radical Islamist goals." The IZH was identified as acting on behalf of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The German ambassador in Tehran was summoned following the IZH closure.
