Punjab Police has successfully busted an inter-state gang involved in cyber financial fraud, arresting three suspects from different districts of West Bengal, according to a senior police official.

V Neeraja, Additional DGP, Cyber Crime Division, confirmed that the arrested individuals are Shovon Saha, Abishek Kumar Singh, and Parveen Kumar Rai. During the operation, police teams recovered three mobile phones, a laptop, and Rs 30,900 in cash.

The probe was initiated after receiving a complaint about an online fraud amounting to Rs 49.60 lakh. The fraudsters had sent a WhatsApp message, impersonating a company's owner, to the firm's accountant and instructed him to transfer the money. Investigations have revealed involvement of 150 bank accounts with Rs 5,22,700 already put on lien. Authorities are continuing their efforts to dismantle the entire network, with further arrests anticipated.
