The Delhi High Court ruled Thursday that all private unaided recognized schools in the nation's capital must appoint a dedicated nodal officer to manage the admission process for students under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) or Disadvantaged Group (DG) categories.

Addressing the language barriers faced by many EWS parents, the court ordered that circulars, notices, and instructions related to EWS and DG admissions be made available in both English and Hindi. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma stressed the importance of integrating EWS and non-EWS students in schools, aligning with the Right to Education (RTE) Act's objectives.

The court issued several directives, including the creation of a clear admission schedule by private schools following the Directorate of Education's allotment of students through a computerized draw. This system aims to simplify the admission process for underprivileged families, ensuring their right to education is not hindered by procedural challenges.
