Tragic Accident in Sindhudurg: Three-Year-Old's Body Exhumed After Tip-Off

Police in Maharashtra's Sindhudurg district exhumed the body of a three-year-old girl on Friday, two weeks after her death in an unreported accident.

The dumper truck driver, who allegedly crushed the girl to death at Malewadi in Sawantwadi tehsil, was arrested for both the accident and destruction of evidence, according to a police official.

The girl's parents, migrant workers from Chhattisgarh, buried her body with the help of the driver and his assistant on August 5, post-accident. After receiving a tip-off, district police launched an inquiry and obtained a court's permission to exhume the body. A further probe is underway.
