Three Arrested for Posing as Police and Extorting Rs 10 Lakh

Three individuals were arrested in Mumbai for allegedly posing as police officers and extorting Rs 10 lakh from a real estate agent in Borivali. The accused, residents of Thane, threatened to defame the complainant, Ankit Aggarwal, before taking the money. They face charges under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Three individuals were taken into custody in Mumbai for allegedly impersonating police officers and extorting Rs 10 lakh from a real estate agent, according to a police official on Saturday.

Identified as Ayub Rehman Khan (43), Jitendra Narayan Patel (56), and Sudarshan Vibhishan Khandare (32), all residents of Thane, the suspects reportedly posed as law enforcement to intimidate their victim.

The complainant, Ankit Aggarwal, stated that he was with a female friend in LIC Colony, Borivali when the accused approached them, posing as policemen and threatening to defame him unless he handed over the money. The trio has been charged under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for extortion and other related crimes.
