Israeli jets launched strikes in Lebanon early Sunday, targeting positions held by the Iranian-backed Hezbollah movement. This action came after the Israel Defence Forces assessed that Hezbollah was preparing to fire rockets and missiles into Israeli territory.

"The IDF identified the Hezbollah terrorist organization preparing to fire missiles and rockets toward Israeli territory. In response to these threats, the IDF is striking terror targets in Lebanon," stated the Israel Defence Forces.

Hezbollah has not yet released an official comment on the Israeli strikes.
