Intense Skirmish in Jammu & Kashmir: Security Forces Clash with Militants
An encounter between security forces and terrorists unfolded in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district after a cordon and search operation was initiated in response to suspected militant movements. The clash, which involved tracer rounds, led to the isolation of two to three terrorists. Additional forces were dispatched to the area.
An intense encounter erupted between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. Officials reported that the incident followed a cordon and search operation triggered by suspected militant movements.
According to a police spokesperson, the operation commenced at 2130 hours in the general area of villages Kheri Mohra Lathi and Danthal. Contact with the terrorists was established at 2345 hours, resulting in an exchange of gunfire near Kheri Mohra.
Security forces employed tracer rounds to illuminate the area, while additional personnel were rushed in to reinforce the cordon and the ongoing operation. As per officials, two to three terrorists are believed to be holed up in the area. The encounter follows a similar event on Monday night when Village Defence Guards fired at unidentified persons, prompting a search.
