The Union Home Ministry has issued a strong advisory, urging the public to refrain from responding to fraudulent emails and communications that misuse the names of ministry officials to solicit payments for FCRA services.
The ministry clarified that all services under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010, should be accessed solely via the official online FCRA portal. Payments, if necessary, must only be processed through the portal's secure online payment gateway, the ministry emphasized.
Reports of fake emails and communications featuring counterfeit logos, email addresses, and documents have prompted this warning. These fraudulent messages ask individuals, organizations, and NGOs for payment in exchange for FCRA services. The ministry advised the public to consult the FCRA support team for any issues by visiting the official support website or using the provided contact details.
