New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon announced on Monday that his country will expand defense cooperation with Malaysia. The initiative includes deploying one of the air force's P8 Poseidon patrol and reconnaissance aircraft to Butterworth for a joint exercise.
During a joint press conference with his Malaysian counterpart, Luxon highlighted the strategic importance of this collaboration. This move signifies a deepening of bilateral ties in a key geopolitical region.
In addition to defense matters, Luxon stressed the pressing need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, underscoring New Zealand's commitment to peace and stability in the region.
