The Kerala government has initiated a high-level investigation into allegations made by ruling LDF MLA P V Anvar against prominent IPS officers. The probe was announced by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday, following the charges that have caught the attention of the opposition.

P V Anvar has accused Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's political secretary P Sasi and ADGP (Law and Order) M R Ajith Kumar of severe breaches of trust and misconduct. Anvar's allegations include tapping ministers' phone conversations and involvement in gold smuggling operations. However, during a public event, CM Vijayan assured that the issues would be addressed seriously without prejudice, and disciplinary measures would be enforced as required.

Opposition leaders, including Congress's V D Satheesan and BJP's K Surendran, have demanded the Chief Minister's resignation and called for a comprehensive probe by the CBI. The matter continues to escalate, with political dynamics in Kerala further heating up.
