Female Doctor Alleges Molestation on College Premises

A female resident doctor at Government Medical College in Amritsar has alleged molestation by an unknown man as she was heading towards her hostel from duty. The police have registered a complaint and are investigating the incident. CCTV footage has been retrieved for further examination.

A female resident doctor of Government Medical College in Amritsar has alleged that she was molested by an unidentified man while heading to her hostel after duty at the adjacent Guru Nanak Dev Hospital.

Police confirmed on Wednesday that a complaint had been registered and an investigation is underway following the incident, which reportedly occurred late Monday evening.

The woman claimed that a man on a bike intercepted her within the medical college premises, near her hostel, snatched her purse, and touched her inappropriately. When she raised an alarm, the assailant fled the scene.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Maninderpal Singh stated that CCTV footage from the area has been retrieved for examination. This incident follows closely on the heels of a similar outrage-triggered event involving the rape and murder of a Kolkata doctor last month.
