Juvenile Home Tragedy: Teen Found Dead in Pauri District

A teenager reportedly committed suicide in a juvenile home in Gadoli, Pauri district. The boy was found hanging in the bathroom after half an hour. The deceased, lodged under the POCSO Act for raping his sister, prompted a magisterial inquiry by Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey.

A teenager allegedly committed suicide in a juvenile home in the Gadoli area of Pauri district, police confirmed on Friday.

The tragic incident occurred on Thursday around 8 am when the boy went to the bathroom and failed to return after half an hour. Security personnel broke open the door to find him hanging.

According to police reports, the teenager resided in the Kotdar area and had been lodged in the juvenile home under the POCSO Act for raping his sister. Pauri Tehsildar Diwan Singh conducted the panchnama and sent the body to the district hospital for postmortem before handing it over to the family.

Garhwal Division Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the case and assured that strict action will be taken against those found guilty.
