Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh: New Indian Air Force Chief

Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh, an accomplished fighter pilot with over 5,000 flying hours, will succeed Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari as the chief of the Indian Air Force on September 30. Singh, currently serving as Vice Chief, aims to modernize the force and address regional security challenges.

Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh, an accomplished fighter pilot with more than 5,000 hours of flying experience, will take charge as the chief of the Indian Air Force on September 30, succeeding incumbent Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari.

Currently the Vice Chief of the Air Staff, Singh will replace Chaudhari, who retires after a three-year tenure. The Ministry of Defence confirmed Singh's appointment, emphasizing his pivotal role in steering the force towards modernization and strengthening its operational capabilities.

Known for his strategic acumen, Air Marshal Singh is poised to prioritize the procurement of new fighter fleets and address regional security concerns, particularly along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China. During his illustrious career, Singh has held numerous command, staff, instructional, and foreign appointments, and has been recognized with the Param Vishisht Seva Medal and Ati Vishisht Seva Medal.
