Farmer Injured by Stray Bullet During CISF Practice Session

A 58-year-old farmer, Shri Krishna, was injured by a stray bullet during a CISF practice session near a firing range in Pilibhit. The incident, which is being investigated for its suspicious circumstances, occurred while Krishna was outside his home. He has been admitted to Pilibhit Medical College.

A 58-year-old farmer suffered a bullet injury on Sunday, reportedly from a shot fired during a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) practice session near the collectorate premises in Pilibhit, police said.

According to the Kotwali police, the incident took place while 30 CISF soldiers from Banbasa, Uttarakhand, were practicing at the firing range in the Nagar Kotwali area. Shri Krishna was outside his home near the firing range when he was shot in the thigh, police said. His family alleged the bullet came from the firing range.

The seriously injured farmer has been admitted to Pilibhit Medical College. CISF officials, along with local police, inspected the spot. Inspector-in-Charge (SHO) Naresh Tyagi stated the incident occurred under suspicious circumstances and an investigation is underway to determine the bullet's origin. No immediate statement was available from the CISF.
