A Delhi court on Monday requested the city police to respond to an application by Yasin Bhatkal, the founder of Indian Mujahideen, for custody parole.
Bhatkal, detained at Tihar Central Jail, cited his need to visit his ailing mother, who recently had cardiac surgery, as the reason for his plea.
Additional Sessions Judge Chander Jit Singh has directed the Special Cell of Delhi Police to submit their response by Tuesday. Bhatkal faces multiple terrorism charges, including conspiracies to wage war against India and involvement in the 2008 Delhi serial blasts.
