The Border Security Force (BSF) has voiced strong disapproval after a jawan was allegedly kidnapped by Bangladeshi miscreants near the Dinajpur area of West Bengal on Tuesday during a routine patrol. The jawan was forcibly taken across the border into Bangladesh, the force detailed.

Following a flag meeting between Sector Commanders, the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) handed the jawan back to the BSF. The situation prompted the BSF's North Bengal Frontier Inspector General to demand the immediate release and condemn the aggressive act, emphasizing the need for peaceful border relations.

The BSF also highlighted its commitment to maintaining 'ZERO FIRING' along the bordering area and urged the BGB to prevent such incidents. As tensions have been high since the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government in Dhaka, the BSF remains on alert along the 4,096 km India-Bangladesh border.
