A Pakistani national, along with his Bangladeshi wife and two in-laws, was apprehended by Indian authorities for allegedly living illegally in the country for six years using fake identities, the police reported on Monday.

Following a preliminary inquiry, it was revealed that the couple, who had originally resided in Dhaka, moved to Delhi in 2014 and later relocated to Bengaluru in 2018. The other two arrested individuals are the man's in-laws. They were detained after a raid on a rental house in Jigani, on the outskirts of Bengaluru, where they had been staying for the past six years.

Jigani Inspector registered a case against the family for residing illegally through the use of fraudulent documents. An ongoing interrogation seeks to uncover further details about their network and whether they supplied materials to a garage. Authorities are also questioning how they managed to obtain Indian identity documents and run a restaurant undetected.
