U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin engaged in discussions with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on Monday, as reported by the Department of Defense.
The officials concurred on the urgency of dismantling attack infrastructure near the border to prevent Lebanese Hezbollah from executing attacks similar to the October 7 incident on Israel's northern communities, according to a departmental statement.
