Major Drug Bust: Charas Worth Rs 35 Lakh Seized in Palghar

In a significant drug bust, police in Maharashtra's Palghar district have seized charas worth Rs 35 lakh, officials revealed on Wednesday.
Based on a tip-off, the crime detection unit of Pelhar police station apprehended 37-year-old Sudhirkumar Shrideviprasad Sharma, a resident of Pratapganj, Uttar Pradesh, on the evening of September 30 at Nalasopara. The suspect was in possession of 884 grams of charas, valued at Rs 35.36 lakh, authorities confirmed.
According to police, Sharma has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Investigations are ongoing to trace the drug's origin and its intended market.
