Britain's Ministry of Defence announced on Tuesday that two Royal Air Force Typhoon fighter jets and a Voyager air-to-air refuelling tanker were involved in attempts to prevent further escalation in the Middle East conflict.

The Ministry emphasized that, while the aircraft did not engage any targets, their presence underscored the UK's unwavering commitment to Israel's security. 'Due to the nature of this attack, they did not engage any targets, but they played an important part in wider deterrence and efforts to prevent further escalation,' the Ministry stated on X.

This deployment comes in the wake of Iran firing a salvo of ballistic missiles at Israel in response to Israel's campaign against Tehran's Hezbollah allies in Lebanon. In light of these developments, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer reiterated Israel's right to self-defence and affirmed the UK's supportive stance.
