Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh held a telephonic conversation with the German Federal Minister of Defence, Mr. Boris Pistorius, on October 8, 2024. During the conversation, the two ministers reviewed the status of ongoing defence cooperation between India and Germany, particularly focusing on exercises in the air and maritime domains.

Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the progress of joint exercises aimed at enhancing interoperability between the two countries' armed forces. They recognized the significance of these activities in maintaining regional stability and enhancing strategic partnership.

The ministers discussed potential ways to further strengthen defence-industrial collaboration, especially with respect to emerging technologies, joint research and development (R&D), and co-production initiatives. They emphasized the need to enhance the resilience of defence supply chains in the face of global challenges, such as geopolitical tensions and disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

To elevate the defence relationship to new heights, they also explored avenues to deepen cooperation in areas like cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and unmanned systems.
