Ukraine and Croatia Forge Strategic Cooperation Amidst Southeast Europe Summit
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy signed a decade-long cooperation agreement with Croatia, enhancing defense industry collaboration and humanitarian demining. This deal was established just before the Ukraine-South East Europe summit. Discussions will also include Ukraine's aspirations to join the EU and NATO, with Croatia's continuing military support.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy solidified a strategic partnership with Croatia on Wednesday, signing a long-term cooperation agreement prior to the Ukraine-South East Europe summit in Dubrovnik. The agreement aims to bolster defense collaborations and endorse international peace efforts.
Zelenskiy met with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic to formalize the 10-year agreement, which underscores Croatia's ongoing support for Ukraine. The cooperation will focus on defense industry development and sharing expertise in humanitarian demining.
Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Croatia has committed 11 military aid packages to Kyiv. Zelenskiy is also slated to address collaboration with 12 nations at the summit regarding Ukraine's ambitions to join the European Union and NATO.
