Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has urged DGP Alok Raj to expedite the recruitment of 78,000 police personnel ahead of next year's assembly elections.

Currently, with 1.10 lakh personnel, the Bihar Police's strength is set to more than double to 2.29 lakh as part of Kumar's ambitious plan, which includes a significant increase in the number of women officers.
