Police Officer Faces Charges in Minor Harassment Case

A police inspector in Hanamkonda district, Telangana, has been charged with the sexual harassment of a minor, police reported on Wednesday.

The incident allegedly occurred on October 9 at the officer's residence. Following a complaint, the officer was booked on October 22 under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, along with charges of wrongful confinement and criminal intimidation.

According to the FIR, the inspector approached the minor while she was conversing with a classmate in their apartment corridor. Allegedly, he invited her to his home, where he inappropriately touched her and threatened to keep the incident a secret. The investigation is ongoing.
