Russia and North Korea's Military Pact: A Looming Decision

President Vladimir Putin has stated that Russia and North Korea will decide on military assistance as per their mutual defense pact. The agreement, signed during Putin's June visit to Pyongyang, allows both nations the sovereignty to choose the implementation of military cooperation.

In a recent interview with state television, President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia and North Korea would determine the provision of military support under their bilateral agreement when deemed necessary.

While emphasizing national sovereignty, he noted, 'When we have to decide something, we will decide... but it is our sovereign decision whether we will apply it, whether we will not, whether we need it.'

The mutual defense pact was signed by Russian President Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un during Putin's visit to Pyongyang in June, signaling potential military cooperation between the two nations.
