The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the AAP government, seeking its response to a plea filed by BJP MLAs demanding the tabling of 12 CAG reports in the assembly. These reports pertain to crucial matters such as liquor duty, pollution, and financial transparency.
Justice Sanjeev Narula directed the notice to several key officials including the Delhi government's legislative assembly speaker, the lieutenant governor, and the comptroller and auditor general. The matter is set for a hearing on December 9.
The plea, led by leader of opposition Vijender Gupta along with several BJP MLAs, alleges that Delhi Chief Minister Atishi is withholding the reports despite repeated requests from the LG. This action allegedly prevents accountability and scrutiny of the government's financial activities.
