The Delhi Chief Electoral Office has begun the Special Summary Revision of the Electoral Roll 2025, targeting all 70 assembly constituencies in the city. This initiative seeks to ensure accurate voter information as the national capital prepares for elections slated for February next year.
Citizens are encouraged to correct their details, report any inaccuracies, and contest erroneous entries in the voter list, according to a statement by the CEO's office. The revised list is expected to be published by January 6, 2025.
CEO P Krishnamurthy emphasized the inclusion of newly eligible voters, especially those turning 18 by January 1, 2025. It is crucial for eligible voters to confirm their names on the roll, as possessing a voter ID is not sufficient for voting rights. The office reminded voters not to have their name listed in more than one constituency, in line with legal provisions.
