The Delhi Police have made a major breakthrough in dismantling a gang involved in stealing and smuggling mobile tower equipment to Hong Kong. In what is being called a massive nationwide operation, 52 individuals were taken into custody as of Wednesday.
Authorities revealed that the gang managed to illegally export over 5,000 Remote Radio Units, valued at Rs 65 crore. These transceivers, vital for mobile communication, were stolen from multiple Indian states.
The Crime Branch of Delhi Police worked tirelessly with other security agencies, recovering equipment valued at Rs 10 crore and solving 256 cases, as the operation unfolded over nearly ten months.
