Fugitive Nabbed: A 19-Year-Old Run Comes to an End

Police in Maharashtra's Latur district have arrested a fugitive, Mahadev alias Prashant Digambar Karpe, nearly two decades after he was named in a robbery case. Karpe, a resident of Beed district, was apprehended as part of intensified action ahead of the Maharashtra assembly polls.

After 19 years on the run, Mahadev, alias Prashant Digambar Karpe, was apprehended by police in Latur district, Maharashtra. This arrest marks a significant breakthrough in a longstanding robbery case that dates back to 2005.

Karpe, a Beed district resident, was caught near a hotel on the Renapur-Ambajogai road. The Ausa police had originally filed the robbery charge against him and his accomplices.

The recent crackdown comes as the Latur Superintendent of Police, Somay Munde, ordered intensified efforts to capture fugitives ahead of the state assembly elections, leading to Karpe's capture.
