Revamped Inter-State Council with Modi at the Helm

The Inter-State Council has been reconstituted with Prime Minister Narendra Modi as chairman. It includes all chief ministers and nine Union ministers as members. The Inter-State Council, crucial for enhancing Centre-State synchrony, has undergone reconstitution. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the helm, the council now includes all chief ministers and a cohort of Union ministers among its ranks.

A recent notification from the Ministry of Home Affairs confirms the participation of Union ministers from NDA alliance partners such as Janata Dal (United) and Telugu Desam Party in this revamped body.

With a vision to bolster cooperative federalism, the high-powered council seeks to establish a robust framework for intergovernmental collaboration. The expanded membership roster includes key ministers as both members and permanent invitees, highlighting its comprehensive representation.
