In a shocking revelation, Thane police uncovered the murder of a young woman over a year after her body was discovered in a creek. The victim, 23-year-old Mansi Bhoir, was allegedly pushed to her death by her lover after she resisted his sexual advances, authorities confirmed on Tuesday.
The case, which had remained unsolved for months, saw a breakthrough when police identified Bhoir's body through a tattoo and other physical features, with crucial input from her sister. Investigations pointed to Adil Sheikh, a regular contact of the victim, as the prime suspect, already in jail for another case.
Further inquiries revealed that after Bhoir opposed Sheikh's advances, he, along with two accomplices, pushed her from a bridge into the creek. The Maharashtra police have detained the accomplices, Mehboob Sheikh and Roopesh Yadav, and registered a murder case against them under several sections of the IPC.
